WW1 Rare documents shed light on the experiences of Prisoners of War

Published
We take a look at rare finds made at Blackburn Library and Blackburn Museum. They allow us to better understand what British Prisoners of War went through in captivity during WW1. This is an often overlooked topic but these documents show what happened to these men and how the work of the Blackburn Prisoners of War Help Committee helped to keep these men alive.
The letters we found reveal many stories including a murder, an escape and the amorous activities of British soldiers held in captivity.

A big 'Thank You' to Philip for all of his help preparing this video.
