Working for nothing in France | VPRO Documentary

Published
Many French people are poor and are getting poorer. They no longer put up with the current political climate and want to take matters in their own hands. Three stories.

Patrick Habare first lost his fingers in a press machine at Goodyear, then he also lost his job when the plant moved to Poland. Nice and cheap.
Sandrine Hricak and Michel Fourmaux used to be able to live easily on a joint minimum income. That has become increasingly difficult over the years. They used to go on vacation. That is no longer possible. They just have to work, work and work.
Katia Anton is a mother of four on welfare. Despite hardly having time to do anything else besides raising her children, she joined the yellow jackets. According to her, the movement has not died out at a time when meetings by corona are no longer allowed.

This is an episode of 'In Europe, history caught in the act' with Geert Mak by Stefanie de Brouwer and Roel van Broekhoven.
