Was the #Mormon religion inspired by the #Inca #god Viracoccha? #shorts #mythology

In the #mormon #religion, various descriptions of the return of #Christ and passages seem to be heavily inspired by both ancient accounts of the #Inca creator God #Viracocha and the Spanish retellings after the #Spanish #inquisition into South America.

Ancient Incas did not have a formal written language but were immaculate record keepers and have records that were interpreted by the Spanish #conquistadors into formal literature. Most of these stories were about the creation of the universe and how Viracocha appeared to the humans.

The fact that Viracocha was described as a “white man” is in itself a red herring as until the Spanish entered South America, there could not have been the presence of white men on the continent. Additionally Viracocha was described as wearing a tunic that reached his ankles and that he had a flowing beard is another of the many similarities.

The Book of Mormon and accounts of Viracocha also describe the journey of both characters, accounts of their life, deeds, and also creation and sustenance of earth. There are just too many similarities to dismiss the possibility that both are talking about the same person.
