Trench Warfare Before WW1 (Notable Example) - History Thoughts

Trenches are almost always associated with their pervasive use in World War 1. However, the very idea of trying to hide from enemy fire and charging into an area where you are vulnerable to being killed has been around for a lot longer. In this video, I briefly examine one war from the 19th century. The industrial scale and unprecedented killing in this war made it sort of a mini World War 1, except it wasn't global.
