The HORRIFIC Execution Of The 11 Nuns That Stood Up To Hitler

Published
Throughout the Second World War, there were a number of horrific executions carried out of innocent civilians and people as the conflict came to their doorstep. The German Army rampaged throughout different lands, and when placed under occupation often towns and villages suffered heavily. Inside a Polish town named Nowogrodek, there was a group of Nuns who were incredibly well respected and liked but they too would suffer heavily from the persecution. Inside of Nowogrodek, over 10,000 people had been executed and further round-ups and executions occurred almost on a daily basis. The Germans were ruthless inside the town, but the Nuns wanted to bring an end to this evil, so they decided to sacrifice themselves.

After a meeting, they approached the Germans and offered their lives in sacrifice for the release of any other prisoners held by the Gestapo. To begin with the Germans accepted this, and spared some prisoners meaning the Nuns did save lives. But they then in 1943 arrested 11 of them, and took them into a forest where a mass grave had been dug. Here then brutally executed the nuns in cold blood, and the story of the Nuns of Nowogrodek is one which deserves to be remembered and told.
