Revival What Does It Actually Look Like? Part 1 II Chronicles 34

Published
We hear a lot of people discussing "revival" in the church and usually attach II Chronicles 7:14 or some such passage to it. What we have in this chapter is what genuine revival looks like and what would be the cause for such a thing.

Judah was on the right track, under Josiah, but there was a glaring problem that Judah had, they were without the governing authority of God's Word. We can only assume they leaned heavily on oral traditions, and likely other extra-biblical sources for what was happening. How we know it was not from the written word of God is during the course of their reforms a Book of the Law was found and the reaction was instant and profound. It began with the king, then to the religious leaders and then to the people. When they knew they had raised the anger of God and they chose the only wise course of action, repented, and made a covenant with The Lord.

This seems like a stretch for our national culture and there is no real reason for optimism when it comes to the church at large. Now is a good time to be part of the remnant waiting for our King.
