Published
German Defense Minister Christine Lambrecht announced Friday that Berlin would send seven Panzerhaubitze 2000 howitzers to combat Russian troops.

Bundeswehr Inspector General Eberhard Zorn said the first group training of about 20 Ukrainian soldiers was expected to begin next week in the German city of Idar-Oberstein.

The Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH 2000) is a 155mm self-propelled howitzer designed by Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) and Rheinmetall Landsysteme (RLS) for the German Army.

The PzH 2000 is one of the most powerful artillery weapons in the Bundeswehr inventory and can hit targets at 40 km (41.8km maximum).
