CST Conference 2022 Panel 8: Fan Curation and Online TV
This panel shed light on the role of fans in enabling different forms of television to come to the fore.
[00:01:26] Lucas Martins Néia from the University of São Paulo highlighted the role of fans in relation to curating alternative histories of Brazilian TV.
[00:16:46] Sydney Garner from the University of Texas in Austin looked at how fans of Avatar: The Last Airbender kept the programme alive, leading to the eventual recommission of the programme.
[00:31:36] The discussion session was chaired by Dr Elke Weissmann, co-organiser of the CST Conference, Reader in Film and Television, and member of the Television Studies Research Group at Edge Hill University.
