Carlo Crivelli, the author of paintings on numerous religious subjects, which he created for the Franciscans and Dominicans of Ascoli Piceno in Italy. In this city, he lived most of his life. Crivelli created mostly religious works.
His paintings mainly consist of images of the Madonna and Child, Pietas and multi-panel altarpieces known as polyptyches.
Crivelli lived during the Renaissance, but worked in the conservative style of the late Gothic. This style is also called international Gothic....
