German Confederation is in a state of a great crisis and Habsburg Federation and Kingdom of Prussia fight for dominance over it. Due to Prussia's failed diplomatic maneuvers in the previous years, many German states seek the sponsorship of a more conservative and lenient Austria.

Austria, however, is plagued by discontent. Italians, Hungarians and Serbians would take any possible chance to break free and dismantle their Federation. Austria is at high stakes.
